Blue

Hello!! Most of us have a favourite colour. My favourite colour is blue. So, I've been thinking why not write a post about that colour. Blue, as colour, has several variation. In its pure sense it has wave length of 420–490 nanometers.
It is interesting to mention that in certain languages terms for blue an green are the same. For example, in Vietnamese both tree leaves and the sky are xanh (to distinguish, one may use xanh lá cây "leaf grue" for green and xanh nuoc "water grue" for blue). In Swedish, blå, the modern word for blue, was also used to describe black until the early 20th century.
We use the term blue sky on a bright sunny day because of scattering of light from the Sun.
Because blue is a colour of bruise it often symbolizes injury. It is also a symbol of sad, melancholy state...
Blessed Virgin is presented on pictures wearing blue dress. In Hinduism, persons of a transcedental or divine nature are displayed as being blue in colour to indicate their dark complexion. To the ancient Egyptians, blue was the color of truth. Blue is important to many Jews, because of its association with religious tradition, popular folklore, and the modern Israel.
Everyone who has ever watched a map noticed that oceans, lakes, rivers and streams are presented with blue colour.
Because of the association of blue with water and sky it is also symbol calm, peace...
There is lot of blue in football. Certain national teams are associated with that colour for example French team is called Les Blues and Italian team is called Azzurri.
In politics blue is a symbol of conservatism, and red, as you know, is symbol of left wing parties.
To create image of honesty, thrustworthiness busniess people, bank officers often wear blue clothes. Because of blue colour of working clothes this colour is also symbol of workers.
Blue is also the colour of navy and air force
Oh yes, children clothes....Blue is associated with boys and pink with girls.
Let me finish with touch of music...After all there is blues. It is one of my favourite music styles.
