Left hand – right hand

I am a left-handed person. I write with my left hand. Between and 8 and 15% of all adults are left-handed. Scientist can not agree on what causes left-handedness. Some mention exposure to higher rates of testosterone before birth. Others talk about stress at birth. There are also those who think that children whose mothers were exposed to ultrasound scans are more likely to be left-handed.
Almost all devices and tools were design for right-handed persons. Let’s just take for example scissors…Left-handed person using it can not see the line being cut along. My experience is that the mentioned line should be left of me…I think so.
My parents never forced me to become right-handed person. I did not have problems in school. My mother was my teacher. Left-handedness was treated bad throughout history. For example in Japan a man could divorce his wife if he discovered that she was left-handed.
Many famous personalities are or were left handed. I’ll just name….well, only 10 of them.
Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, Gandhi,
Napoleon Bonaparte, Leonardo da Vinci,
Michelangelo, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Leo Tolstoy,
David Bowie, Charlie Chaplin, Paul McCartney.
By the way, Adolf Hitler was also left-handed. But he’s an evil man…
Scientific studies have certain small positive correlation between left-handedness and creativity, intelligence.
In 2006, researchers at Lafayette College and John Hopkins University (the USA) in a study found that left-handed men are 15% richer than right-handed men for those who attended college, and 26% richer if they graduated. The wage difference is still unexplainable and does not appear to apply to women. (source en.wikipedia.org)
There are more left-handed persons amoung younger population. This is mainly because pressure on person to become right-handed person is not so strong like it used to be.
